Morning To-Do List (work on IXL)
Science:
It's definitely time for a science experiment. It's OK if you don't have everything you need for this experiment, just use what you have at home. Click on the picture above and let the fun begin. Please send me a picture of your child's work in progress as well as the finished house so I can post it here. This will help them with deductive reasoning and spatial relationships.
Here are the steps if the link is not working:
Go to www.mysteryscience.com
Click on A STARTER LIST OF K-5 SCIENCE LESSONS at the very top. Make sure you scroll all the way up.
Click on 2ND GRADE
Click on COULD YOU BUILD A HOUSE OUT OF PAPER
Grammar:
First, make adverbs out of Play-doh. Just in case, HERE is an easy no bake Play-Doh recipe. I haven't tried this recipe, however it is very similar to one that I use in class. If you don't have Kool-Aid, you'll probably need to increase the flour. We had just started learning about "when" adverbs when school shut down. Next, have your child write sentences or draw pictures using the adverbs that they made. I'd love more pictures!
Afternoon To-Do List (work on IXL)
Reading and Grammar:
Now they're going to read about, "Why is this River Green," plan a leprechaun trap, and practice common and proper nouns.
First, read the magazine.
Next, play the game which will help them practice common and proper nouns.
Finally, make a plan on how to make a leprechaun trap by explaining what they will use to make the trap as well as how it will work. They are welcome to make the trap and send me a picture.
